Toddler Program
Story Book House divides Toddlers into two groups:
• Toddler 1 — 12 to 24 months
• Toddler 2 — 24 to 36 months
 
Both groups follow the same basic schedules, although Toddler 2 begins potty training time which is worked into the schedule.
 
Toddlers up to age 18 months are provided with a crib. Older toddlers are provided a cot which is no more than seven inches off the floor. Cots are labeled and used only by your child. Parents should provide a blanket from home for use during nap time. Cots are disinfected and blankets are laundered by us.
 
The Toddler rooms are busy places! There are all stages of mobility from “just walking” to “constant runners”! These children are learning to talk and are at different stages of verbalization…this is when hitting, scratching and biting may begin. When children are unable to verbally communicate, they find other ways to make their wants known! Our teachers are trained in child development and will make every effort to watch for these interactive moments! They will use redirection and other methods to teach the toddlers!
